New ideas in micromachining capabilities and the latest in thin film photovoltaic scribing and wafer-level applications were presented at JPSA's Advances in Laser MicroMachining Technology Seminar held March 3rd in Nashua, NH. The nearly 50 attendees (from New Hampshire and Massachusetts) were offered insight to innovations available through laser technology and how the latest developments could improve their processes.

The seminar consisted of three presentations. Lamar Bullock from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth Advanced Technology Manufacturing Center discussed using laser technology for processing micro fluidic devices; Marco Mendes from JPSA's applications lab presented on the latest capabilities in the field of micromachining; and Xiangyang Song, JPSA's applications lab, discussed the latest advances in photovoltaic applications.

For more than 20 years JPSA has delivered micromachining solutions to universities, scientific, medical, automotive, and other industries. It operates more than 15 in-house laser systems for short-run prototyping to 24/7 high-volume production.
