Precision converting services for contract laser manufacturing

Feb. 6, 2012
Saint Paul, Minn. – LasX offers precision cutting services in addition to selling its line of laser slitting machines.

Saint Paul, MN – LasX Industries, Inc. (www.lasx.com), a leader in web to web laser cutting and digital converting equipment and services, announces the addition of the Precision Converting Services group to better serve the electronic and industrial markets. Dean Laird has been selected to oversee the new group, and will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities along with maintaining existing customer accounts.

The Precision Converting Services group functions as a full service job shop offering laser converting capabilities and confidential process development for a wide range of electronic and industrial applications including membrane switch components, graphic overlays, gaskets, spacers, abrasives, and adhesive tapes. Utilizing advanced LaserSharp® technology, the team also offers conductive coating ablation for flexible circuit and RFID applications, achieving precision unmatched by conventional processing methods. Laser converting is an ideal production solution for difficult to convert materials, such as abrasives and adhesives, which are problematic to process using metal tooling. Furthermore, digital technology offers the flexibility to more quickly accommodate design revisions encountered during prototyping, eliminating the downtime and tooling costs associated with metal dies.

In addition to offering laser digital converting services to the medical and craft/print markets, LasX anticipates that the Precision Converting Services team will diversify current service operations and expand its processing capabilities. In turn, the new group will be apt to more comprehensively address the specific requirements associated with electronic and industrial applications. The Precision Converting Services group is committed to providing high quality, cost-effective converting solutions to customers seeking fast turnaround in order to send their components to market faster.
