Belgium firm Balliu NV has debuted a CO2 laser cutting machine with what it says is a 40% smaller machine footprint.

Balliu NV, Lokeren, Belgium, has debuted a small laser cutting machine with what it says is a 40% smaller machine footprint.

The LD Compact's 2 kW CO2 laser can cut 15 mm thick steel, targeting precise cutting of sheet material of 1250 x 1250 mm. The pallet changer is replaced by a single pallet that can be pulled out of the machine like a drawer, resulting in the smaller floor space (5 x 4 m).

The first tool is said to be in the commissioning stage. Fiber laser versions are also available.
