Stoneham, MA -Advanced Laser Technologies is introducing laser cutting and drilling services onto parts that are powder-coated with thermal barrier coatings, which enables clean openings, eliminates the need for masking, and reduce assembly and handling costs.

The Nd:YAG laser-cutting service after powder coating can handle parts up to 30-in. in diameter, producing precise patterns and holes down to 0.015-in. dia. with clean edges with no overspray, according to the company. The process is suited for parts made from 6061 Aluminum and similar materials which have been powder coated first, including instrument housings, detectors, filters, and air and fluid control components.

Advanced Laser Technologies specializes in micro-hole laser drilling, cutting and welding using Nd:YAG and CO2 lasers, typically for components in aerospace, aviation, and electronics applications.
