Tividale, UK - West Midlands engineering company Accurate Laser Cutting recently invested over £1 million in new machinery including two laser cutting tools, to keep up with increased demand and pave the way for future expansion.

The new investment includes two Bystronic Byspeed 6 kW laser cutting machines (£900,000) plus an Amada HFE press brake, and another £5M worth of equipment is on order for its soon-to-be-opened facility in the North Midlands (Rotherham, near Leeds), stated Accurate Laser director Jon Till. The company, which achieved a record £2.5M in sales in its fiscal 2012, also has added a weekend shift and hired four new workers as part of longer-term expansion plans.

"The record turnover this year gives us more confidence in our business model and will assist in the company's future growth which will come in the form of a brand new manufacturing depot planned for 2013," said Till. He added that the company aims to achieve £3 million in sales in 2013, and has bigger goals to establish warehouses in every manufacturing city in the UK.

Engineering companies in the UK (called "job shops" in the US) have enjoyed booming business in 2012 despite persistent macroeconomic woes in Europe and even the UK. Laser business has been especially brisk in the Midlands region.
