Laserage acquires majority stake in Venta Medical, expands medical device manufacturing
Waukegan, IL and Union City, CA -Laserage Technology has acquired a majority interest in Venta Medical, a Silicon Valley-based turnkey medical contract manufacturer.
Laserage is a precision laser contract manufacturer in medical devices, aerospace, and industrial business-to-business. Venta Medical is a joint venture between Venture Manufacturing Group (a medical device design and manufacturing company) and Delta Pacific Products (a plastic injection molding company, and also a Laserage partner).
The move will increase both firms' profiles in medical device manufacturing and broaden their geographic reach in medical devices, according to the company execs. "This is an opportunity for Laserage to enhance our existing service offerings, while establishing a California presence to serve the critical needs of emerging companies in the medical technology arena," stated Steve Capp, Laserage president and CEO. It also increases Laserage's capabilities in locally based services including cleanroom assembly to its existing California customers, he added.
For Venta, Laserage will help expand its supply chain and its national presence, noted cofounder and CEO Karl Im.
