Lancaster, PA -- Smucker Laser Cutting & Metal Fabrication has increased its laser cutting capacity with a new CO2 laser, a Trumpf TruLaser 3030. The extra system widens the company's capabilities to cutting greater thicknesses -- up to 1/2-in. aluminum and up to 3/4-in. stainless, as well as up to 1-in. steel.
Smucker's new Trumpf system is its third laser cutting system; it added a 2nd Trumpf machine in 2008, after its initial purchase in 2002. The TruLaser 3030 incorporates a single cutting head for all sheet thicknesses, and a linear drive technology to increase speed and dynamics.
Among the firm's laser-cutting offerings are custom nameplates, architectural truss plates, lettering and decorative art, parts for utility trailers and car haulers, and wheel centers for industrial vehicles.
