Jena, Germany - Jenoptik's Laser & Materials Processing unit says it has shipped the first of its new fiber lasers to an unidentified customer in Asia, for use in high-speed laser cutting of metals. More high-power fiber lasers will be delivered through year's end to the customer, after having been put through "a comprehensive and demanding series of application tests with flying colors," according to the company.
The JenLas fiber cw 1000 fiber laser is a single-mode high-power fiber laser system, featuring power stability and a long lifetime. It offers an output power of 1000 W for fast processing with high productivity and processing quality in laser cutting and welding of various metals.
The JenLas fiber cw 1000 was recently shown at EuroBlech in October; it made its debut at Photonics West.
