LasX Industries, a maker of digital laser converting equipment, and pouch-making machinery provider Totani America have released a new system combining both of their areas of expertise with a machine that integrates straight-line, downweb laser processing into pouching equipment targeting easy-open packaging operations.

The LaserSharp PL40 can be integrated into indexed or continuous processing zones; its small footprint allows for easy integration into new or existing Totani pouch lines. Independent position adjustments provide precise control over score line crossweb positioning and start point placement. Laser modules can easily be positioned for precise inline scores or offset slightly for tabbed packaging applications. LasX's patented embedded control technology guarantees score continuity and quality by intelligently controlling score depth through all machine speeds, even during the acceleration and deceleration of an index operation.
