IRphotonics, Hamden, Conn., has introduced the HE Series of infrared fiber optic cables designed to meet the most stringent specifications required by military and industrial applications.
The hermetically sealed, fiber in metal tube, HE Series is the perfect solution to house and shield IRphotonics’ mid infrared fibers (iGuideTM) against severe physical (e.g., pull, bend, and crush) and extreme environmental (e.g., shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, pressure, and liquid immersion) conditions. Cable assemblies are available in a variety of lengths featuring a highly flexible squarelock conduit and an optional PVDF lining for enhanced protection from liquids.
The HE Series is particularly suited for defense & aerospace applications such as infrared counter measure systems (IRCM) that use indium fluoride fibers or remote spectroscopy applications for harsh industrial environments. It is offered with a range of optical fiber connectors.
"Damage and performance are limiting conditions that often exist in challenging environments," said Eric Geoffrion, CEO of IRphotonics. "Our HE Series cables are designed, manufactured and tested with this in mind to ensure superior performance and durability over the life of the cable."
