Picolas' LDP-QCW 300-12 high-speed driver for laser diodes is suitable for pumping of solid-state lasers and spot welding.

Picolas, Herzogenrath-Kohlscheid, Germany, has released new high-speed drivers for qcw laser diodes, specifically designed for Jenoptik-laser diodes.

The LDP-QCW 300-12 has very high output current (up to 300 A), and provides peak output power of up to 3600 W. Its control and pulse generator eliminates need for an external pulse generator. Pulse duration is up to 5 ms at 300 A.

The driver is suitable for applications including pumping of solid-state lasers and spot welding.
