As part of LME's education track, Dr. Geoff Shannon, Miyachi's laser technology manager, will be presenting an Overview of Laser Welding on Tuesday, September 23, from 9:15-10:00 a.m. The introductory overview is ideal for design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and process engineers, as well as engineering managers.

Dr. Shannon will focus on laser welding performance and application scope. He will provide an introduction to laser welding technologies, show where each works best, and provide an overview of different fiber laser weld characteristics. Application examples will be shown for both sub- and multi-kilowatt power levels, covering both ferrous and non-ferrous materials from a range of industries. The talk will also include information on system integration and operational considerations.

Corporate executives interested in laser material processing for manufacturing operations are invited to attend the Lasers For Manufacturing Summit to be held in conjunction with LME on September 22, as seating is limited.
