PhotoMachining hires new applications scientist

PhotoMachining Inc., Pelham, NH, has announced that it has added a well-known laser scientist, Dr. Francis (Bo) Burns, to its staff.

Burns formerly held positions with IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and ESI. During his time working with IBM Endicott and Fishkill, he was one of the first people to ever drill polyimide with a laser. He has spent many years developing laser based manufacturing technology for high volume applications.

Bystronic held a grand opening ceremony for its newest company, Bystronic Canada Ltd. on September 17, 2008. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, the new company is part of Bystronic's overall strategy for North America.
