John Mankowski appointed manager of engineering, PRIMA North America

PRIMA North America Inc., the North American subsidiary of PRIMA INDUSTRIE S.p.A., Torino, Italy, has appointed Dr. John Mankowski to the position of manager of engineering for convergent lasers.

PRIMA North America Inc., the North American subsidiary of PRIMA INDUSTRIE S.p.A., Torino, Italy, has appointed Dr. John Mankowski to the position of manager of engineering for convergent lasers.

In announcing the appointment, Terry L. VanderWert, president of PRIMA North America, stated that Dr. Mankowski in this newly created position will be responsible for managing the electrical, mechanical and controls engineering team for convergent lasers. Reporting to Dr. A. Peter Schwarzenbach, VP of laser technology for PRIMA North America, Dr. Makowski will also assist in the development of plans, schedules and budgets for product development and improvement initiatives.

"Dr. Mankowski brings to convergent lasers many successful years of engineering, management and teaching experience in the electrical engineering field. Dr. Mankowski joining convergent lasers further demonstrates the company's commitment to one of the core businesses of PRIMA North America," VanderWert stated.

Dr. Mankowski most recently served as a tenured professor at Texas Tech University Center for Pulsed Power and Power Electronics. Prior to joining Texas Tech University, Dr. Mankowski held senior engineering positions in both the private and government sectors. He holds Doctorate and Masters degrees in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University and a Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
