Intense appoints new VP, global product and market development

Intense Ltd., a developer of next generation semiconductor lasers and integrated solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Berthold Schmidt as VP, global product and market development. As a key member of the senior management team, Berthold will spearhead the company's drive into new products and market areas globally.

Intense Ltd., a developer of next generation semiconductor lasers and integrated solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Berthold Schmidt as VP, global product and market development. As a key member of the senior management team, Berthold will spearhead the company's drive into new products and market areas globally.

Berthold brings a wealth of in-depth technical and commercial knowledge to Intense, headquartered in Glasgow, UK. Over the last 10 years, he held senior management positions at JDS Uniphase and Nortel Networks and joins Intense from Bookham (Switzerland) AG where he was on the executive board. Berthold received his PhD from the Technical University at Munich, Germany and an MSc degree from the State University of New York. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration from GSBA in Switzerland.
