Encouraging news for fabricating industry

Nov. 10, 2008
Two recent press releases give encouragement to those associated with the fabricating industry.

The second comes in a press release from industry leader TRUMPF, which reports that EuroBlech met all its expectations, leading to the company almost breaking its own EuroBlech sales record set in 2006, a boom year for sheet metal fabricating equipment sales. TRUMPF sold 199 machines and laser systems worth about $80 million. And significantly almost 66% of these orders came from outside of Germany, a market currently in the doldrums.

JPSA Laser announced the appointment of Charles E. Cuneo as its new president, based at the company's headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire. Cuneo takes over responsibilities as president from Jefferey P. Sercel, founder, who will continue at the company as chairman and chief scientist.
