LAI wins manufacturing contracts for vehicle armor plate production
LAI International Inc., a supplier of precision components and sub-assemblies for original equipment manufacturers, announced it has won several manufacturing contracts for armor plate systems.
At the end of July, LAI announced a partnership with a Dutch aerospace manufacturer for F-35 fighter jet parts. See LAI partners with Dutch aerospace manufacturer.
As part of the armor plate agreements, LAI received five awards for armor plate production for a military vehicle armor system developed by the Army Research Lab designed to stop high-threat level, penetrating-type explosives.
"LAI continues to prove itself in manufacturing precision components at high-production levels for mission-critical applications, including military vehicle armor," Stewart Cramer, president of LAI, said. "Our manufacturing team is successful at adapting to change and responding to the needs of our customer to make complex components more efficiently and ultimately to deliver complete products faster."
LAI has completed work on its third contract for projects with U.S. Army TACOM and Letterkenny Army Depot. The contracts are valued at $8.2 million over the next two years. The company already has been issued contracts this year for more than $7.5 million.
