Cleveland, Ohio – Lincoln Electric Automation will host a one-day laser welding and cutting technology seminar at its Automation Center of Excellence on March 24, 2011.The seminar will include a brief review of the history of lasers, an introduction to laser materials processing benefits, and hands-on demonstrations of the technology.

Cleveland, Ohio - Lincoln Electric Automation will host a one-day laser welding and cutting technology seminar at its Automation Center of Excellence on March 24, 2011.The seminar will include a brief review of the history of lasers, an introduction to laser materials processing benefits, and hands-on demonstrations of the technology.

This seminar is tailored to organizations that are looking for higher productivity, lower heat input, and/or lower per-part cost from an automated process. Welding engineers, designers, manufacturing engineers, product managers, and CEOs will all benefit from the session.

Other topics on the agenda include:

  • A short review on the history of lasers and the hybrid process
  • Uses for lasers in various industries
  • The economics of the technology
  • How a company can evaluate if a laser is well suited for their present or future manufacturing needs

Guest speakers will include representatives from FANUC Robotics America Corporation, IPG Photonics Corporation, Alabama Laser, Division of Alabama Laser Specialty Products Inc and HIGHYAG Lasertechnologie GmbH.

The March event is limited to 40 guests. Lincoln Electric Automation will offer back-up date(s) throughout the year as the company anticipates this seminar will fill up quickly.
