Neftenbach, Switzerland – Soutec AG has appointed Peter Winkler as general manager of Soutec Ltd, Farmington Hills, Mich., as of June 1.
Winkler has an engineering background and brings with him over 15 years of broad leadership experience in business development and operations, which included laser welding and cutting technologies. He has worked with top automotive and turbine component manufacturing companies such as Mahle and Rich Technology International.
Winkler will succeed Mathias Binder, who has been leading Soutec Ltd since October 2008. Binder will return with his family to Switzerland in July and will take over the position of head of engineering and product management at Soutec AG in Neftenbach.
The company says that after experiencing more challenging times during the recent economic downturn, it is pleased to report its business has strongly rebounded on a worldwide scale and new orders continue to rise. The company has been able to leverage its technology and market position in the field of laser welding applications.
