Harderwijk, The Netherlands – AWL Techniek sees its profit and sales forecast heading towards record levels, even in the still-unsettled economic climate. Since the start of 2011, AWL has integrated over 150 robots in its welding machines. Despite the increasing delivery times of robots, AWL is still able to deliver to its customers on time. This is because it is not tied to one supplier, but integrates all major robot brands.

One of the most significant developments within the organization is the intensive growth of laser welding. Although AWL, one of the leading European machine builders and system integrators of laser welding systems, has been active in the field of laser welding since 2003, they are now seeing this technology being widely adopted in the market. Because of the company’s experience and knowledge, most parties find their way to AWL.

"Laser welding currently accounts for more than 60% of our turnover. Particularly within the automotive industry, laser welding is a resounding success. Faster, cleaner and neater are keywords that would be appropriate. We expect more developments in the coming years and we are ready," said Piet Mosterd, GM at AWL-Techniek. Besides the push of laser welding, projects are also becoming larger and more complex.

"As a system integrator, we offer our customers the unique solution which best meets their needs. By using existing modules that have already proven themselves, combined with new engineered components, we develop highly reliable and efficient machines," adds Brand van 't Hof, technical director at AWL-Techniek.
