St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri Office of the State Treasurer has awared a $108,000 loan to Titanova Inc., a laser technology machine shop that uses state-of-the-art laser technology to provide high-quality materials to customers.
Titanova was founded in 2008 by John Haake, who has been an editorial contributor on the subject of laser surface treatment to Industrial Laser Solutions. Haake is an expert on diode lasers, and has used this expertise to obtain 27 patents. With six full-time employees, who are also experts in the field, Titanova has one of the most complete full-service diode laser contract manufacturing service shops in the nation. It specializes in laser heat treating, laser cladding, laser hardfacing, laser welding and laser brazing. Titanova is using the loan to purchase additional equipment to expand into new products and services.
"Titanova is a high-tech laser job shop, very similar to a machine shop, except we add unique and special metals back onto parts instead of cutting and machining the metal," Haake said. "We are the only business of this kind in the entire Midwest. This equipment loan is helping us purchase a fiber couple laser that will give us new capabilities. This will allow us to deliver new and more valuable services to our customers and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving technology landscape."
