Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Laser Institute of America (LIA) has developed a unique course that combines LIA's Industrial Laser Safety Officer Training and a new Laser Applications Overview class. Individuals can attend the Industrial LSO course or the Laser Application Overview course or both in Chattanooga from October 4 to 7, 2011.

The combined course offers multiple options for individuals who just want LSO training or individuals who want to learn how lasers can give their company a competitive edge using lasers in their industrial laser processes.

The Industrial LSO Training and Laser Applications Overview will be held at Tennessee Rand, a provider of engineering, machining and integrated robotic systems. It is a full service automation integrator with core competencies in advanced welding system design, high-quality weld fixtures, robotic integration, process automation and on-going service & support.

The Industrial LSO Training part is a 2-day, non-mathematical approach designed to teach the duties of Laser Safety Officer as described in the ANSI Z136.1 for the Safe Use of Lasers standard to users of industrial lasers.

The Laser Applications Overview course provides an understanding of the different industrial laser power sources available, process basics, best practices and a purchasing checklist that will help ensure your company selects the best fit solution that provides maximum productivity and profitability. If you want to know how lasers can improve your process, or what other applications they are good for, then this is the course to attend.
