Bright Solutions, Cura Carpignano, Italy, has introduced a more compact version of its existing Wedge HF Q-switched DPSS laser, which is distributed in North America by RPMC Lasers, O'Fallon, Missouri. The compact OEM configuration provides 180 uJ of pulse energy at 1064 nm with pulse widths as short as 700 ps and repetition rate capabilities from 10-100 kHz.

Coating removal using 355nm.

The Wedge HF also produces beam quality with an M2of 1.1. Harmonic wavelengths of 355 nm, 532nm, and even the eye-safe wavelength of 1.5 um are available. Average power produced in the IR with the Wedge HF is 3 W at 20 kHz and 4 W at 100 kHz with conversion to the SHG of 50% and THG of 30%. At 1.5um, you can expect 500mW of power at 10 kHz.

Internal marking of glass.

The optical head of the Wedge HF measures 7.5 x 3.5 x 2.8 inches. The laser is cooled via fan-forced air.

The Wedge HF can be used for a variety of applications including: ablation of thin films, micromachining, OPO pumping, specialty scribing/materials processing, and LIDAR – LADAR – LIBS.
