Austin, TX - Rapid prototyping with PEEK HP3 is now available with Solid Concepts' high temperature laser sintering technology. PEEK is the first true high performance polymer to be offered by Solid Concepts with additive manufacturing (or 3D printing) technologies. Parts created with PEEK are compliant with FAR 25.853 and UL 94 V0, and have very good chemical and hydrolysis resistance. PEEK parts exhibit high potential for biocompatibility, can be sterilized for medical applications, and are lightweight with high wear resistance.
The addition of PEEK to Solid Concepts' SLS technology offerings adds the full benefits of complex geometries with high strength and heat deflection. PEEK material is ideal for applications where stiffness of parts is critical and where parts will be exposed to temperatures up to 464 degrees F (240 degrees C). Prototypes and production parts built with PEEK will not only withstand chemical deterioration and damage, but maintain good flexural and compressive strength at temperatures well beyond the operational range of standard nylon-based SLS parts. All of Solid Concepts' PEEK parts are built in an AS 9100 and ISO 9100 certified facility.
Solid Concepts provides rapid prototyping and custom manufacturing services, with capabilities in PolyJet, stereolithography (SLA), Z-Corp, selective laser sintering (SLS), direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), fused deposition modeling (FDM), CNC models and patterns, QuantumCast advanced cast urethanes, and composites.
