Stoneham, MA - Custom braze filler plugs are laser cut from the host cast material and precision laser drilled for cooling by Advanced Laser Technologies.

The casting braze plugs are precision cut from the same material as the cast part to fill holes left behind, which allow access to the I.D., where additional machining is required. Laser cut to customer specifications using nitrogen to prevent a recast (oxide) layer, they can be produced in a wide range of sizes and include precise holes for cooling.

Precise laser-drilled holes as small as 0.01 in. dia. with ±0.0005 in. tolerances and exact repeatability, depending upon the material, thickness and configuration, can range from 0.18 in. L x 0.08 in. W to 0.25 in. L x 0.5 in. W, with thicknesses from 0.03 in. to 0.1 in., and tolerances to ±0.005 in., depending upon configuration.
