Winbro's advanced machining facility achieves Nadcap accreditation
Rock Hill, SC - Winbro Group Technologies LLC’s business unit, Winbro Advanced Machining (WAM US), has achieved four separate Nadcap accreditations for Non-Conventional Machining in high speed EDM, laser hole drilling, laser cutting, and EDM die sinking at its US facility here.
WAM US, Rock Hill (photo above) is the sister plant to Winbro Group Technologies Ltd.’s business unit WAM UK, based in Coalville, Leicestershire, UK, which already holds Nadcap accreditation for high speed EDM. This achievement is a significant milestone for WAM US, enhancing the company’s capacity to further serve both the US and global aerospace market places for high speed EDM and laser hole drilling services, using Winbro Group Technologies designed and built EDM and laser machine tools.
Nadcap is a "worldwide cooperative program of major companies designed to manage a cost-effective consensus approach to special processes and products and provide continual improvement within the aerospace and automotive industries," according to the web site of the Performance Review Institute, a not-for-profit trade association that conducts audits around the globe each year. There are more than 50 major aerospace prime subscribers, most of which require Nadcap accreditation throughout their supply chain, says the site.
"Nadcap accreditation for Non-Conventional Machining in our Rock Hill facility demonstrates our commitment to our customers of expanding our US-based operations. It supports the significant investment we have already made in state of the art manufacturing and is complementary to our AS9100 rev C accreditation. This further consolidates our capability to offer the highest levels of quality and service," said Winbro Group Technologies' CEO, Mike Arbon.
