Laser sintering blazes new trails in tool manufacturing
Bavaria, Germany - Some components simply can't be made with a conventional milling machine. Selective laser sintering could provide the solution. With this new technology, lasers are used to fuse layers of metal powder into completely new components.
The Toolcraft company in Bavaria, a manufacturer of quality precision parts and assemblies, is investing in the technology. Toolcraft started in 1989 and has about 130 employees.
The question is: Just how important will laser sintering machines be for German industry?
To view the 3.5 minute video from Toolcraft, where the company’s employees show how they use a mold to produce plastic parts, among other things, go to “Laser sintering blazing new trails in tool manufacturing.”
