II-VI Incorporated increases ownership in HighYAG to 100 percent

In conjunction with this change, Mark West has been appointed as new managing director of HighYAG.

Stahnsdorf, Germany - HighYAG Lasertechnologie GmbH (HighYAG) has announced that II-VI Incorporated has increased its ownership in HighYAG to 100%. Being a majority-owned subsidiary of II-VI Incorporated since 2008, HighYAG is now fully owned by II-VI Incorporated.

II-VI Incorporated uses its expertise in engineered materials growth, optics fabrication, thin-film coating, and component manufacturing to create high-tech products for a wide range of applications and industries.

In conjunction with this change, Mark West has been appointed as new managing director of HighYAG. According to Mark West, also GM of II-VI Infrared (a subsidiary of II-VI Incorporated), HighYAG will continue with its existing mission and strategy: “I am very excited about this opportunity. In the past years HighYAG has developed to a worldwide leader in laser material processing and I want to thank Dr. Wedel, Dr. Lummer and the ongoing core of talented personnel for achieving this reputation for the HighYAG brand. We will continue to invest in HighYAG – its products, employees and facilities in order to grow the business.”

HighYAG’s products for laser material processing can be seen at the exhibition "Schweissen & Schneiden," an international trade fair on joining, cutting and surfacing, in Essen, Germany from September 16-21 at booth J107 in hall 3.0.

HighYAG Lasertechnologie GmbH, a subsidiary of II-VI Incorporated, is a supplier in the laser material processing industry. Its laser processing heads and fiber-beam delivery systems are used for laser cutting and welding as well as for brazing in the advanced manufacturing industry.
