Industrial-grade linear stages

July 14, 2016
The IDL165-BL series industrial-grade linear stages feature a ballscrew drive and brushless DC motor for high duty cycle and high-throughput applications.

Newport Corporation (Irvine, CA) has introduced the IDL165-BL series industrial-grade linear stages, which feature a ballscrew drive and brushless DC motor for high duty cycle and high-throughput applications. The stages are available with 150 or 300mm travel range and have a load capacity of up to 450 or 250N in the axial direction. They can be configured in XY or XYZ stacks, and are compatible with several industrial motion controllers. A version with a brake is available for vertical applications and a pneumatic counterweight can be added for high loads. Other features include an air purge, self-sealing side protection bands, angled sides to deflect debris, and stiff, metal hardtop covers. Applications for the stages include cutting, ablation, marking, welding, and micromachining, among others.
