Mahr Federal (Providence, RI) will introduce its MarSurf PS 10 roughness measurement unit for shop-floor use at IMTS 2016 (September 12-17, 2016, in Chicago, IL - Booth E-5614). The system, which features a 4.3in. TFT touchscreen display, measures 31 roughness parameters and offers a list of "favorite" functions in the display. Intended for quick roughness testing in and on a machine while in production, uses include quality assurance of milled and turned parts, ground and honed workpieces, large machines, large workpieces, or with incoming inspection. Additional features include the ability to remove the drive unit from the system and operate it separately from the display, as well as support of small-diameter parts during the measurement cycle. Optional probes for different measuring tasks allow for measurement of gears and deep measuring points, such as in grooves or bores. A large battery pack enables over 1200 measurements per charge.
