Hanwha Q-CELLS places order for InnoLas laser drilling technology

Oct. 18, 2016
Photovoltaic modules producer Hanwha Q CELLS placed an order with InnoLas for an ILS-TT laser drilling machine for its R&D facilities.

In September 2016, photovoltaic modules producer Hanwha Q CELLS (Seoul, South Korea) placed an order with InnoLas (Krailling, Germany) for an ILS-TT laser drilling machine for its R&D facilities. InnoLas' ultrafast and precise laser processes help to increase solar cell efficiency as well as throughput, thus reducing the overall cost of solar power. The ILS-TT high-throughput laser machine platform allows Hanwha Q CELLS to further improve their existing production processes for their crystalline silicon solar cells.

InnoLas had already supplied its ILS-TT laser machine to the former Q-Cells in the past, and has now been chosen to become the partner for the development of Hanwha Q CELLS' next-generation production technology. The ILS-TT was delivered to Hanwha Q CELLS' R&D facilities in Thalheim, Germany.
