DPSS industrial laser company forms

Unilase aims to offer ultra-wide pulse repetition rates for fulfilling particular laser manufacturing requirements with fewer sources.

Newly formed company Unilase (London, England), which develops and supplies diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser and amplifier modules for industrial uses, aims to offer ultra wide pulse repetition rates to give customers the option to fulfil their laser manufacturing requirements with fewer sources, according to Dr. Ara Minassian, the company’s founder and CTO. The modules also feature Q-switching, high power, and high beam quality for this purpose, he says.

Another plan for the company, Minassian says, is to launch stand-alone DPSS laser amplifier modules capable of taking output of low-power seed lasers to tens of watts.

The company's executive team also includes photonics business veteran Dennis Camilleri, who has joined the Board as CEO.
