The L-406 compact linear stage provides high-precision linear motion with minimized runout in industrial applications, among others.

PI (Physik Instrumente; Auburn, MA) has unveiled its L-406 compact linear stage, which provides high-precision linear motion with minimized runout in industrial applications, among others. The stage handles payloads up to 22lbs, and is available with 26, 52, and 102mm travel ranges and velocity to 20mm/s. It delivers high accuracy and smooth motion with minimum incremental motion and repeatability down to 0.2µm. Additional features include recirculating ball bearings; a DC servo motor with gearhead offered for high torques and resolution; a two-phase, direct-drive stepper motor for higher velocity; and an integrated rotary encoder sensor mounted on the motor shaft to provide position feedback.
