A system-wide upgrade to the Sigma laser stent and tube cutter allows configuration with either microsecond fiber or femtosecond lasers.

A system-wide upgrade to the Sigma laser stent and tube cutter from Amada Miyachi America (Monrovia, CA) allows configuration with either microsecond fiber or femtosecond lasers, which offer high pulse repetition rates for precision cutting and cold ablation cutting, respectively. Featuring 3 or 4 axes of motion, wet and dry cutting, and an automated tube loader option, the updated system can cut stents and tubes with diameters from 0.2 to 25mm. The control software features a 22in. graphical user interface (GUI) on a swing arm.
