Spectra-Physics adds two pulsed fiber lasers for laser processing to portfolio
Santa Clara, CA - In response to growing demand for fiber lasers for use in laser processing, Spectra-Physics has introduced two new pulsed fiber lasers. The VGEN-ISP-POD, an infrared (IR) short-pulse master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) with pulse-on-demand (POD) capabilities, has utility in precision micromachining and marking applications, while the VGEN-QS-HE-100 Q-switched, high-energy pulsed IR fiber laser delivers 100 W average output power and up to 1.5 mJ pulse energy for high-throughput metal processing applications such as drilling and deep engraving.
The pulse-on-demand capabilities at high repetition rates of the VGEN-ISP-POD allow control of each individual pulse, enabling high-resolution raster/image marking and precise micromachining of fine structures. Additional features include short pulse width of 1 ns and high peak power of 40 kW.
VGEN-QS-HE-100 delivers up to 100 W average power and high pulse energy of 1.5 mJ. With low weight and small size, the laser has uses in precision-intensive industrial applications such as micromachining, fine processing, marking, engraving, and scribing.
