Rofin begins production of its third-generation fiber lasers

Feb. 13, 2015
The Rofin Macro Group has developed its fiber laser technology even further, launching the third generation of its FL Series lasers.

Hamburg, Germany - Fiber lasers have established themselves as efficient and reliable tools in industrial production environments. The Rofin Macro Group has developed this technology even further, launching the third generation of its FL Series fiber lasers. By integrating more powerful pumping modules and an advanced optical unit, the company is now capable of generating 2kW of laser power from one fiber laser unit and, in doing so, sets new technological standards.

The third-generation FL Series fiber lasers offer more efficiency and are more compact than the previous versions, according to the company. They feature a fixed 50 or 100 µm output fiber for integration in existing systems, such as cutting systems.
