Mainz, Germany - Diode laser maker DILAS has acquired ownership of its state-owned building, where the company was founded in 1994. The owner, the LLB Rheinland-Pfalz (Landesbetrieb Liegenschafts- und Baubetreuung), agreed to sell the building, which the company expanded by adding another floor level and increasing the cleanroom area.

DILAS' newly owned building includes 4200m2 of office space, high-tech research laboratories, and production area. The total property is approximately 5000m2.

The official hand-over of ownership took place on July 9, 2015, between state government representatives and DILAS' general manager Dr. Marcel Marchiano. “By owning the building, we are now in a position to increase our competitiveness, by introduction of new production technologies. In addition, the necessary conversion work will be done under our own responsibility," he said.
