Laser blanking from coil stock

Oct. 2, 2015
LaserCoil offers a laser blanking capability directly from coil stock to eliminate both die cost and die maintenance.

Napoleon, OH - LaserCoil, recognizing that stamping advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) typically requires increased forces that can adversely impact tooling or the need for a higher tonnage press, offers a laser blanking capability directly from coil stock to eliminate both die cost and die maintenance. Tensile and yield strength has little to no impact on the laser cutting speed, so laser maintenance costs do not increase with material toughness or thickness. The cost to maintain laser consumables is much less expensive than the requirements for die and tooling upkeep, which goes up significantly in cutting tougher materials such as AHSS.
