Our take:
Laser welding provider EB Industries is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The company, which started in 1965 with a single electron beam welding machine that operated around the clock in a 5000-sq-ft facility, supported the Apollo missions, engaged in relay manufacturing, and precision-welded millions of military aircraft components.
Following an eventual move to a 16,000-sq-ft. facility located in Farmingdale, NY, the company added four electron beam welding machines and, in 1984, laser welding and hermetic laser sealing. Currently, the company's lasers cover power from 50 to 4000W.
In 2013, the company further expanded its capabilities, including a larger shop floor, more state-of-the-art welding equipment, and a larger workforce.
