So, I’m off to Fabtech 2015 in Chicago from November 9-12, where more than 40,000 visitors will join me touring 1700+ exhibitors in three halls. There will be more than 225 companies showing industrial laser-related products, of which I have about three dozen on the must-see list.

If you are also attending, look for me on Monday, where I will be rushing between the halls with a videographer in tow, shooting videos of selected companies for viewing on these pages after the show.

The remaining days will be given over to meeting a number of companies that are showing new products that deserve attention. There are just too many exhibitors with products to see for the hours allocated at the show. So, my apologies to those I miss.

Fabtech is the last of the big international shows featuring laser products for 2015. The timing is perfect, as this is the month ILS begins to compile statistics for the annual economic review that will appear in the January/February issue. So, my ears will be tuned to what the industry has to say about the economy this and next year. I place great value on their views and I use them as sounding boards as I gain a perspective on the coming year.
