Solar cell manufacturer Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS; Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan) and subsidiary Sunrise Global Solar Energy (Wujie Township, Yilan Hsien, Taiwan) have placed orders with InnoLas (Krailing, Germany) for five additional ILS-TT high-throughput laser machines for passivated emitter rear cell (PERC) technology. InnoLas’ ultrafast laser contact opening (LCO) process helps to increase solar cell efficiency, thus reducing the overall cost of solar power.

InnoLas' ILS-TT fully automatic laser machine for solar cell production.

InnoLas supplied fully automatic ILS-TT laser machines to Sunrise in 2013 before it merged with SAS. With the last machine order placed at the 2015 European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (September 14-18, 2015; Hamburg, Germany), InnoLas is the exclusive supplier of laser machines for SAS’ 800MW production capacity of PERC-type solar cells.
