Keynoters for 2015 Additive Manufacturing Users Group Conference announced

The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) has announced that Lonnie Love, Jason Lopes, and Todd Grimm as the keynote speakers for its 2015 AMUG Education & Training Conference, which will be held in Jacksonville, FL, on April 19–23, 2015.

Chatsworth, CA - The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) has announced Lonnie Love, Jason Lopes, and Todd Grimm as the keynote speakers for its 2015 AMUG Education & Training Conference, which will be held in Jacksonville, FL, on April 19–23, 2015. The three will inform, motivate, and excite attendees with their discussions of additive manufacturing possibilities.

Grimm, president of T. A. Grimm & Associates and AMUG's additive manufacturing industry advisor, will open the conference on Monday, April 20th. He will share his thoughts on the present and future with highlights of recent developments, current trends, and future advancements, while reinforcing the “education and training” aspect of the conference. This will be his fifth appearance as an AMUG keynote speaker.

Love, group leader of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)’s Manufacturing Systems Research Group, will share the results of his team's additive manufacturing work and offer insights on current projects on Tuesday, April 21st.

Returning for his third AMUG keynote appearance, Lopes of Legacy Effects opens the final day (Thursday, April 23rd) with a visual journey of the special effects the studio has worked on that have used additive manufacturing. In his presentation, he will share the tools he has used, the creativity employed, and the amazing results that were achieved. His film credits include Avatar; Terminator Salvation; Alice in Wonderland; Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3; Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron; Robocop; and Pacific Rim.

“These keynote presentations will be followed by a jam-packed agenda that will inform, educate, and train additive manufacturing professionals,” says Mark Barfoot, AMUG president. “There will be hands-on workshops and presentations that cover art and architecture, metal casting, education, manufacturing tools, materials, medical, direct metals, scanning, stereolithography, laser sintering, and transportation.”
