Ypsilanti, MI - Marking/engraving is the hottest of laser applications on every continent where industrialized countries exist. Around the world so-called “Mom and Pop” shops are set up to perform part-time laser marking/engraving applications. Many are in business because of the low cost of a marking/engraving system.
However to perform both marking and engraving services, on all materials, requires investment in more than one type of laser. What if a dual laser system, at an attractive selling price, was available?
Trotec Laser Inc. has introduced the FineMarker Hybrid, combining a diode-pumped Nd:YAG (YVO4) laser with a CO2 laser on a high-speed flying-optic X-Y motion system. The result is a machine capable of engraving, cutting, and marking on a wider range of materials than either technology separately, without changing the focusing optics.
The Hybrid uses the same platform (chassis, electronics, and motion system) as the Speedy CO2 series, which has been in production for more than three years. The system has a 29 in. x 17 in. active work area, much larger than beam-steered galvo motion systems. This is the first laser system to combine both technologies on one platform. Patents are pending on the technology.
Trotec produces five different laser product lines for industrial engraving, cutting, and marking applications. Trotec is the Ypsilanti, MI-based subsidiary of Trotec Productions based in Wels, Austria.
