Industrial laser maker Trumpf invests $3M in new training facility

With the expansion, the industrial laser company is now capable of training 5000 students within 630 training events a year.

FARMINGTON, CT – Increasing its commitment to the training and education of its precision sheet metal fabrication customers and employees in North America, industrial laser and machinery manufacturer Trumpf has invested over $3 million in a 40,000-sq-ft. training center at its Farmington location to offer classroom and “at the machine” instruction (FIGURE).

The company offers IACET- and SAA-certified courses to help enable customer advancement within the industry. Both certifications are reflective of the knowledge and expertise offered by the company’s experienced and devoted training instructors. The company also offers a tuition-covered, full-time paid Apprenticeship Program for aspiring employees, and is certified to train veterans who have the opportunity to enroll in Trumpf training courses to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at no cost to them.

With the expansion, the company is now capable of training 5000 students within 630 training events a year. The new training floor is equipped with 13 of the company’s machines, including tube lasers, material handling and material storage systems, and laser, bending, and punching machinery. The company has 14 classrooms and two virtual learning classrooms, and now also offers an E-learning Specialist to teach online Machine Operator and Programming Training courses in the two new web pods.
