Tangshan, China-Four laser welding systems from Siemens Metals Technologies (www.siemens.com/metals) will be installed in the fall of 2007 at Tangshan Hengtong Accurate Sheet Metals Company on their hot-dip galvanized strip processing lines.

Tangshan Hengtong will be one of the first Chinese steel companies to use laser welding machines in continuous hot-dip galvanizing lines. The object is to increase the performance and flexibility of the plant by laser welding coils together to enable continuous operation of the strip-processing facility. Strip thicknesses between 0.3 and 2.5 mm and widths between 1000 and 1250 cm are processed.
