Pepperell, MA — Alase Technologies, Inc. (www.alase.com), a nine-year-old, rapidly growing, innovative supplier of OEM and turnkey industrial laser marking systems, has formed an arrangement with Mecco Partners LLC (www. traceabilitysystems.com of Ingomar, Penn.) in which that company will market a laser marker to certain sectors of the market in which it has special interests.
Alase produces Nd:YAG and CO2 laser markers and has just introduced a new unit powered by a 10 watt fiber laser (from IPG Photonics). It is a systems integrator, preferring to buy its lasers from suppliers such as Lee Laser, GSI Lumonics, Synrad, etc., while providing the powerful software that drives the markers. In fact, the company was founded as a marking software supplier.
Mecco and its partners, Traceability Systems, M.E. Cunningham, and Mecco Machines, offer innovations in direct part marking for traceability, verification, and identification in manufacturing. ILS reported on its Bumpy Bar Code technology in the December 2000 issue.
