Dassel, MN —Unusual tube shaping and contouring of silicone and polymer tubing with precision hole features as tiny as 5 microns is a new service offered by Spectralytics, a contract-manufacturing supplier of specialized high-precision laser services.

The process, developed for medical applications, allows any shape to be drilled through one or both walls of a tubular part, or to ablate spirals or contours on the outside diameter without piercing to the core. Precise depth control ensures repeatable accuracy of features part-to-part.
