Photonics Hot List: September 19, 2025

In this episode: An OCT imaging and AI combo approach predicts recurrent heart attacks, the latest photonics business headlines, and researchers develop a quantum cascade laser-based method for frequency combs.
Sept. 19, 2025

In this episode of Photonics Hot List:

A combination of optical coherence tomorgraphy (OCT) imaging technology and new AI algorithms could soon make it possible for doctors to predict recurrent heart attacks.

Mojo Vision is taking another step closer to commercializing its groundbreaking technology, while LightSolver makes its own breakthrough involving partial differential equations and laser processing units.

A new type of spectrometer and sensor could be in the pipeline, thanks to an air-dielectric slab double-chirped mirror and a quantum cascade laser that can generate a stable LWIR frequency comb without dispersion.
