    Armed with fiber laser technology and a one-way ticket to Antarctica, engineers based in China are helping to prove lasers can be effective in even the harshest environments.

    Integrated photonics startup PhotonPath is now accelerating and scaling up, thanks to recently awarded funding. Elsewhere, Photonics Leadership Group, a U.K. market research firm, has released a forecast for the U.K. photonics industry.

    An international team of researchers has discovered a new approach to creating arrays of quantum droplets. And it could mean big things not only for quantum technologies, but applications like interferometry.
