Understanding the evolution and innerworkings of the ocean’s coral reefs is key to helping them, and the life within them, thrive. Now, a team in Australia is working on it with a new underwater imaging approach that combines two photographing techniques.

A laser beam-steering system on a chip, developed by researchers in Washington, is already showing potential to take LiDAR technology to the next level for autonomous vehicles.

Mimicking human eye function and light adaptation for artificial vision systems has long been a challenge. A team in China has been working to overcome those challenges with its two-terminal opto-sensor based on multilayer γ-InSe.
